  2. Hi Comics,
For 8 years, legendary comics like Jim Gaffigan, Rick Shapiro and others along with the hundreds of new and professional comics who regularly come by, have helped make Performance Anxiety Comedy Open Mic one of the best in the city.

If you enjoy trying new material in a professional room, join us every Tuesday and Sunday at 6pm.

We offer 7 mintues of stage time for a 1 drink minimum in a supportive room.

    Join us!

  3. I highly doubt comics of the caliber of Gaffigan show up to a Broadway Comedy Club open mic when he can go to any show in the city, especially in the Bowery and get stage time in front of real people.

  5. Not only did he do our mic, but he waited til last, refusing to go up right away when walked in. Ours is not the only mic that Jim has walked in on.

Don't shoot, dude, stop by and see why a good mic is always worth it, even for pros.

  6. I saw Jim Gaffigan at one of the smallest open mics ever a few months ago. It was me and about 4 others in the room, with about 5 comedians in the back. I also saw Aziz Ansari in not so much better of a venue. They both rocked it and were trying some new stuff. A good comic will get on stage anywhere and everywhere. An audience is an audience and you have to try your stuff somewhere as well as stay fresh.

  7. I performed toward the end of tonight's open mic, and I must say that I thought it was good, supportive crowd. It works really well if you're trying to hit multiple mics in one night. Had a decent set there, and took a leisurely walk to Vicious Cycle at The PIT on 24th Street at 9:30. Definitely plan on going back.

  9. So sayeth Jim, 'nuff said. Pros are ALWAYS doing open mics, no matter where they are. They have new material, just like the rest of us.

  10. Yeah, I've been coming here a lot, Andrew. Not only do comics do they're new material, many are doing material they've NEVER done. Is that professional?

    Little heads up, greg.

In your second sentence you might like to check your spelling of "they're" and examine the logic of your premise and conclusion.

    Just trying to help.

  13. Greg: It's painful to do material you've never done before, but, it's a must. I've done new stuff that bombed, repeatedly, but then again, other times it makes its way into my regular set. Watch "Comedian", will tell a lot about The Pros and how they work.
