  1. Does Mr. Geffner realize 10 dollars for cover is a little too expensive? There are so many free mics that are so good...i guess rich open mikers go there, but it is not for me.

  2. Even if this mic was free, it's not going to have a huge turnout immediately. With a ten dollar price tag, he's literally not going to get a single comic.

  3. Didn't you know the poets of New York are all 1%-ers?

  4. Sign up at 7.

This is for hard core depressing avant garden poetry not for comics.

Go if you want to do spend $10 to do 4 minutes for a bunch of poets

  5. no offense to Mr. Geffner, he seemed nice but me & my comic friend (I'm a comic 2) showed up for this mic and 10 DOLLARS is wwaaayyyyy too much for broke comedians to pay to open mic, so we didn't go, and the moment we entered the room there was maybe 3 people there tops and they looked depressed. Dunno why you put 'paid mic' on the ad, it makes it seem like it's free. This mic won't survive unless u changed things NOW

  6. OKAY everybody needs to relax!! As a comic i gotta say it's a pretty cool spot, i went there once, got my pictures taken by a photographer (turned out awesome!!) and i got like 6 min stage time. There were at least 20 ppl in the crowd and it was even BETTER that they weren't comics! they listened and enjoyed THE SHOW!!! there was an awesome vibe and i definitely recommend it. Don't get me wrong, i'm POOR too and 10 bucks is A WHOLE LOT!!!! but you get cool pic's and great feedback to your jokes. and that day i went i was stack with no other mics to do, so yeah, i paid the money, it was tough but i did it.
    :) good luck
